MIY-Oreo Truffles

Today, I tried an Oreo Truffle. You want to know where you can get one? Well, this is an MIY or a "Make It Yourself!!!!!" Yes, that's right! I'll occasionally give recipes so that tou can make truffles yourself! These don't particularly have the creamy ganache Godiva center, but they're fun and easy and great for parties!
See instructions below the review and the pictures!

Anyways, even though I made it, I still need to review it! It had a very original cakey-taste. It tasted SO much like oreo it was awesome! You could hardly tell that there was cream cheese in it! It had a very cake texture inside, not like Godiva's smooth creamy texture, but so original. You probably wouldn't think "truffle" if you came across it unknowingly. I only had the two in the pictures, and it has a sort of deliciously sickening, like it's TOO sweet which is a near impossible task to manage. I wouldn't have that many at a time. But it's perfect for party desserts, a quick snack to pop into your mouth! 8.25/10!!
Two of the truffles. I mixed and matched white chocolate and milk chocolate!

This is the one that I made especially for me! It had way more chocolate on the top than I usually put on.

The delicious chocolateee insideee(:

How to Make Your Own Oreo Truffles (instructions that I followed from Bakerella.com. Supposed to make about 36 truffles, but it made like 50 for me)

Ingredients
package oreo cookies (divided… use cookie including the cream center)
1 8oz. package cream cheese (softened)
white chocolate bark

Instructions
1. Finely crush 7 cookies in a food processor or place them in a ziploc bag and crush into a fine consistency. Reserve for later.

2. Crush remaining cookies and stir in softened cream cheese. Use the back of a large spoon to help mash the two together.

3. Roll the mixture into 1″ balls and place on wax paper covered cookie sheet.

4. Melt chocolate as directed on the package and then dip balls into chocolate, tap off extra and set aside on wax paper covered cookie sheet to dry. You can sprinkle the tops with the 7 crushed cookies for decoration. (I usually eat mine before they make it to this stage.)

5. Once dry, refrigerate and enjoy!

Notes: I used a small cookie cutter to push the mixture through for the heart shaped truffles. Also, it helps to freeze the uncoated balls for a few minutes to keep the mixture from starting to fall apart in the melted chocolate. If this becomes a problem, dip them in the chocolate, let dry and then dip again. They are also good dipped in regular milk chocolate bark. And for an extra twist, use the mint oreo sandwich cookies.

Bakery Dessert Truffles Part One

Molten Lava Cake (Chocolate Lava Cake): Yummy! Already reviewed as chocolate of the month! This one didn't taste as fresh and didn't have as much of an exploding taste as the one I had in the store. But it was still pretty good! It had the same exploding chocolate taste and it's still an 8/10.
Molten Lava Cake/Chocolate Lava Cake truffle! You can really tell it has a cakey substance!

Cheesecake: This one had one half of its interior a cheesecakey flavor, and the other half having a cheesecake crust flavor. It tasted just like the classic cheesecake that everyone knows and loves! Wrapped in a milk chocolate shell and topped with chopped pecans, this truffle was delicious, subtle, and it met almost all of my expectations. I expected a bit more of a cheesecake flavor that was more cheesy. I ate this one along with the carrot cake and they both are topped with nuts, so I got them confused, and I couldn't tell that this one was the cheesecake and the other one was carrot cake untill I reached the crust taste. 8.5/10!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That's right. The white is the cheesecakee and the crustt is the brown part!!

Carrot Cake: I couldn't really distinguish this flavor between the Cheesecake flavor because, as you may have read, I got them confused at first. It's flavor wasn't particularly original. I'm not big on carrot cake, I haven't tasted it as recently as I've had cheesecake, but it tasted very similar to the carrot cake I can remember! 7/10 (Sorry for the lack of a visual display!)

Nutty Truffles!

It's a chocolate night! I'm having three truffles that all look exactly the same! I forget which one's which! They all look so alike!! Haha(: You gotta love Godiva and their nutty truffles!

Oh! NOW I remember! I'm having some Cheesecake and Carrot cake in truffle form from the Bakery Dessert Truffles and Pecan Caramel from the Ice Cream Parlor Collection of Summer 2010! As you can see there is a similar interior between the Cheesecake and the Carrot Cake. However, cheesecake has two flavors in the center, one of cheesecake and the other of the crust! And so does the Pecan Caramel truffle with a melty caramel center! Reviews for part one of the bakery dessert truffles will be uploaded soon!

So as I told you, I'll be trying these out soon! There are six truffles and I'll review them in two parts!

New Caramel Apple Gems!!

Ever tried a caramel apple? You know the ones you get at fairs thats an apple dipped and covered in delicious caramel?? They're SOO GOOD?!?!? Can you imagine that in a TRUFFLE? Well Godiva did! And although it's not available for individual sale, you can buy them in the Gems Gift Bag! This is what Godiva has to to say about them: "Our new Caramel Apple Gems are the perfect blend of tangy and sweet, tart and chocolaty. They're individually wrapped in smaller sizes so you can enjoy decadent chocolate snacks anytime, anywhere. They're perfect for many different occasions - hostess and teacher gifts, birthday celebrations, saying thank you, or just because. 18 pcs. (6.5oz.)" I'm really looking forward to trying them! For some reason when I imagine their taste, I imagine a granny apple taste, but I don't think it will taste like that at all...at least I kind of hope it doesnt!! I don't think that would taste very good in chocolate. But I expect it to definitely have caramel and a granny appple taste. I can't wait to try it!!

I'm definitely trying this the next time I go to Godiva in perhaps mid-October-ishhh..so hopefully they won't end them before then!!
