Hello, chocolateers!
I'm currently still pacing myself in eating a group of four assorted truffles. So far, I've tried two and plan on publishing my reviews and rates all at once in the near future, so keep an eye out for those!
Are you all as excited as I am to try the new Cake Truffles?!
The new truffles in the collection are Birthday Cake, Cookie Dough, Butterscotch Walnut Brownie and Pineapple Hummingbird. I've never heard of the last two flavors as cakes. I listed them in order of my preference based on names alone. I love cake batter flavored things and birthday cakes, so I think a birthday cake truffle would be the perfect epitome for a cake truffles collection! Cookie dough has been my favorite guilty pleasure for as long as I can remember. Brownies are irresistible and pineapple is yummy. Overall, I'm hoping on getting an 8 pc. Gift Box soon! I think it'd be cool to get two of each so I can try it and decide if I like it enough to have another or not.
My second desire is the Pumpkin Cheesecake Truffle. I love pumpkin flavors in fall-related foods and, as I've previously mentioned, I love cheesecakes. I think this is a new truffle, so I'm really excited to try it!
The Pumpkin Patch truffles are also making a return along with all the little halloween/fall/Thanksgiving decorated things this year. I love this time of year. Autumn is my favorite season, and the chocolates that Godiva produces around this time always make me even more excited. Can't wait until I can make a stop soon!(:
"Forget love, I'd rather fall in chocolate!" A blog totally about chocolate! The flavors, brands and reviews from the opinions of a chocolate lover by the title of Felix.

Godiva Truffle Bars: Strawberries & Cream in White Chocolate
Godiva Truffle Bars: Strawberries & Cream in White Chocolate
220 calories total, 55 calories per square (in case you need the nutrition)
This is a 1.5 oz (43 g) Truffle Bar consisting of four squares of white chocolate with a creamy strawberry filling. Created for the Summer Ice Cream collection, this bar is not currently listed anywhere on the Godiva website so it is unclear whether this, like some of the other products in the collection, will only be available for summer or if it will be sold all year-round.

Now, as far as my personal review of this bar, it was as I expected. I suspected this bar to taste as it did, and my expectations weren't very high. I'm not a fan in general of artificial fruit flavors in chocolate (as opposed to, per se, natural and real fruit being dipped into chocolate, which I am a fan of). The white chocolate was rich and thick, and the strawberry filling reminded me of strawberry jam. Although it tasted nothing like strawberry jam, its consistency was not very gooey, but sort of viscous (see below). It even looks like it might taste light strawberry jam, but when combined with the white chocolate, the flavor is completely unique. The white chocolate leaves a lasting impression and becomes almost overpowering. Again, I wasn't crazy about the combination in the first place, but this bar did not disappoint.
As far as rating goes, I'd personally say 6/10.
But, if I were being completely unbiased, it'd be more like an 8/10. It does melt a little in your hands and the white chocolate overpowered the filling. However, I think it'd be difficult to further emphasize the taste of the filling without throwing all the flavors off balance. Godiva did a good job with this one.

Bakery Dessert Truffles Overall Review
This was the Godiva's homepage, promoting the collection! Recently changed for their Halloween chocolates
This is the artistic look to the collection, I think it may have been one of the first photos of the entire series. Promotes the boxes in which we can order from!
This is the picture I took, before they were all gone!
Quality: 4/5 It was delicious, but some of the chocolates weren't jawdroppers, there were a few that were completely worth every penny, but others the flavors were unbalanced and they didn't satisfy my chocolate taste buds.
Presentation: 4/5 Interesting combinations of white chocolate, nuts, and other swirls and twists! A lot fo the nuts and swirls added a new taste, and I couldn't imagine them without them, but others were purely decoration, and no purpose.
Creativity: 5/5 Never heard of these flavors before. Godiva took a bold risk, and it paid off! I think this collection was awesome, and completely original. And the flavors they made having the limitations of putting it into a hollow chocolate ball only like an inch in diameter was awesome.
Overall, I would rate Godiva Chocolatier's Bakery Dessert Truffles 8/10.

Bakery Dessert Truffles Part Two
Strawberry Tarte: I've never tried tarte previous to this occasion, and technically I still haven't tried it. But I want to now that I've tasted this truffle! It has a double center, one side is a "vanilla mousse" while the other tastes like the frozen strawberries you use in Strawberry Shortcakes, however it was a tart, not a ganache center, so it was more solid and didn't drip constantly when eaten. I can't say whether it tastes like the actualy Strawberry Tarte or not, but it had a deliciously original flavor. I loved it. The only downside was that it wasn't really a chocolate mix. I don't even think the strawberry tarte has any chocolate, so the combination wasn't the best. But it was certainly very delicious. Also, the tarte is a little overpowering, but witha flavor so rich, how can it not be? 9/10. Worth trying!
The outside, before eaten. Chocolate criss cross patterns!
The inside! The vanilla mousse rests atop the tarte(:
YUM! Almost gone!!
Red Velvet Cake: They're almost gone! Now I've just tried the Red Velvet Cake truffle, and I think I'm a little upset I saved this one for last. It wasn't a particularly original or exciting flavor. It tasted like other truffles I've had, while all the others in this collection have been particularly new and original, this one just barely met my expectations. It wasn't bad. It was tasty and a pleaser, for sure. But was it particularly special? Not exactly. 6/10
The interior and the exterior- yummy cake inside and the white chocolate outside!
Interior!
Tiramisu: LAST ONE! I've never tried tiramisu, but I think it has layers of chocolately flavor. And this definitely was the right choice to save for last! It had a blend of coffee flavor! If tiramisu tastes like this truffle, I really want to try it. And if this truffle tastes like tiramisu, then many people will be pleased. It had a blend of "mascarpone and espresso ganache," and is topped with chocolate bits on its white chocolate shell. The perfect mix with the espresso flavor so that it's not too overpowering. I highly recommend this chocolate, I found nothing wrong with it. 10/10!
Interior without flash, the top is the espresso ganache, the bottom is the mascarpone center! Yum!

Bakery Dessert Truffles Part One
Molten Lava Cake (Chocolate Lava Cake): Yummy! Already reviewed as chocolate of the month! This one didn't taste as fresh and didn't have as much of an exploding taste as the one I had in the store. But it was still pretty good! It had the same exploding chocolate taste and it's still an 8/10.
Molten Lava Cake/Chocolate Lava Cake truffle! You can really tell it has a cakey substance!
Cheesecake: This one had one half of its interior a cheesecakey flavor, and the other half having a cheesecake crust flavor. It tasted just like the classic cheesecake that everyone knows and loves! Wrapped in a milk chocolate shell and topped with chopped pecans, this truffle was delicious, subtle, and it met almost all of my expectations. I expected a bit more of a cheesecake flavor that was more cheesy. I ate this one along with the carrot cake and they both are topped with nuts, so I got them confused, and I couldn't tell that this one was the cheesecake and the other one was carrot cake untill I reached the crust taste. 8.5/10!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That's right. The white is the cheesecakee and the crustt is the brown part!!
That's right. The white is the cheesecakee and the crustt is the brown part!!
Carrot Cake: I couldn't really distinguish this flavor between the Cheesecake flavor because, as you may have read, I got them confused at first. It's flavor wasn't particularly original. I'm not big on carrot cake, I haven't tasted it as recently as I've had cheesecake, but it tasted very similar to the carrot cake I can remember! 7/10 (Sorry for the lack of a visual display!)
(Right) Cheesecake
(Middle) Carrot Cake
(Left) Pecan Caramel *different collection*
Nutty Truffles!
It's a chocolate night! I'm having three truffles that all look exactly the same! I forget which one's which! They all look so alike!! Haha(: You gotta love Godiva and their nutty truffles!
Oh! NOW I remember! I'm having some Cheesecake and Carrot cake in truffle form from the Bakery Dessert Truffles and Pecan Caramel from the Ice Cream Parlor Collection of Summer 2010! As you can see there is a similar interior between the Cheesecake and the Carrot Cake. However, cheesecake has two flavors in the center, one of cheesecake and the other of the crust! And so does the Pecan Caramel truffle with a melty caramel center! Reviews for part one of the bakery dessert truffles will be uploaded soon!

So as I told you, I'll be trying these out soon! There are six truffles and I'll review them in two parts!

New Caramel Apple Gems!!
Ever tried a caramel apple? You know the ones you get at fairs thats an apple dipped and covered in delicious caramel?? They're SOO GOOD?!?!? Can you imagine that in a TRUFFLE? Well Godiva did! And although it's not available for individual sale, you can buy them in the Gems Gift Bag! This is what Godiva has to to say about them: "Our new Caramel Apple Gems are the perfect blend of tangy and sweet, tart and chocolaty. They're individually wrapped in smaller sizes so you can enjoy decadent chocolate snacks anytime, anywhere. They're perfect for many different occasions - hostess and teacher gifts, birthday celebrations, saying thank you, or just because. 18 pcs. (6.5oz.)" I'm really looking forward to trying them! For some reason when I imagine their taste, I imagine a granny apple taste, but I don't think it will taste like that at all...at least I kind of hope it doesnt!! I don't think that would taste very good in chocolate. But I expect it to definitely have caramel and a granny appple taste. I can't wait to try it!!
I'm definitely trying this the next time I go to Godiva in perhaps mid-October-ishhh..so hopefully they won't end them before then!!

Milk Chocolate Truffle, Pecan Caramel Review and News on the Bakery Dessert Truffles
I purchased 7 truffles today! I purchased all of the Bakery Dessert Truffles, and I received a Milk Chocolate Truffle I guess as my free chocolate of the month. I didn't choose this truffle to be my monthly truffle...I've alreayd tasted this truffle, so it's not that big of a deal. But I still have pictures, and I will briefly rate it! And
I'm SO excited about the Bakery Dessert Truffles! However, I'm probably going to be posting their reviews separately or I'll review them all at the same time, but it will take a little while. This is because I only have a few truffles to last me until October. I want to try to savor these, so it might take a little while. If I at some point got a lot at a time, then I won't need to wait! But, those will be arriving eventually.

I'm not going to review the Pecan Caramel Truffles but I'll tell you that they were very good. I don't see a point in reviewing them because they're not available for purchase any more. But I would rate them an easy 8.5/10! I'll try from now on to make my reviews more prompt so that you'll still have time to try them!
The milk chocolate truffle is not limited edition, so you can purchase it any time, or you can buy a bag of milk chocolate gems. They are very good, and very creamy. They have an original taste, too. There are small chunks of solid chocolate inside the ganache center. It's not very original but it's yummy! I'd rate it an easy 8/10.

Bakery Dessert Truffles Preview
Godiva has released a new flavor of TRUFFLES which are my favorite type of truffle! BAKERY DESSERT TRUFFLES! There are six flavors in this collection. I've already reviewed the Molten Lava Cake, or the Chocolate Lava Cake, so I only need to review 5 more! I'm probably only going to be able to take advantage of a rewards club deal, and be able to try 2 or 4. Then I won't be able to try any more until October! D'= But I'll review whichever truffles I can get my hands on!!
Here's what they look like, and what I think of them:
If you get the chance to try the ones I have yet to try, leave a comment! Send an email! Compare your tastes with other chocolate lovers! If the flavor you had is one I'm deprived of tasting then I might use your words or a quote from (giving you full credit, of course!!) your comment/email etc. to let everyone else know what you think!!!

Godiva: Ice Cream Parlor Truffles
Here are the reviews and what not!!! (:
In the inside! The chocolate in the middle kind of gushed out, like a gusher! But it was yummy!
I also am trying the Ice Cream Parlor Truffles, which are a special limited edition for the summer and for the National Ice Cream Day! I am going to try the Orange&Creme, the Mint Chocolate Chip, and the Pecan Caramel Truffles! I cannot wait! I have already tasted the Orange and Creme. And I'm trying the Mint Chocolate Chip as I type!!! I loveeee limited edition things, for some reason! Like things that are special for occasions?!?! Yeah! So i love the whole idea of Ice Cream "Pint" containers and the creamy ganache centers! Not to mention they also have chocolate pops AND truffle bar collection which i SO wish i couldve tried!!!!!! It's sooooo excitingg!!!! So, I'm only going to be trying three flavors, but I love mint chocolate chip, I hear that the Pecan truffle is AH-MAZING, and the other flavors didn't interest me like Oranges&Creme. So, I can't wait to review these!!!! There are six truffle flavors in total, however.
Hazelnut Gelato and Coffe Gelato: I don't like coffe, so these didn't interest me much.
Neapolitan: I don't like strawberry and vanilla ice cream, either, so I didn't think I'd be too crazy for this flavor...
Orange & Creme- It is so named Orange and Creme for a reason! A perfect balance between an ice creamy taste and orange bursts of flavor. There is a lot of the creamy feel, almost too creamy for a truffle, but definitely sticking to the Ice Cream theme! I dont really like oranges...at all, but when there's chocolate, you can't go wrong! A white chocolate swirl decorates the dainty and very light, fluffy truffle. The flavor, I wasn't crazy about. I mean, there's still that overpowering orange flavor that just matches the chocolate. It was pretty good, just not my favorite---8/10
Well, this time around I tried the Chocolate Lava Cake Truffle as my free chocolate of the month, which (as the picture shows) completely lava-like! (With a rewards card, you, too, can get a free chocolate every month which I am able to take advantage of every two months seeing as I live 45 minutes away from the closest Godiva store) It was just bursting with chocolatey flavor. There was the truffle filling and like a chocolate liquidy type ingredient which contributed to the lava like flavor. The chocolate though tasted thick, and it was weird to have that contrast in a truffle, and it was sort of overpowering, so I couldn't taste the other parts of the truffle. It was delicous overall, though! 8/10
Before I ate it! I'm not really sure what's on top of it, but as far as I'm concerned it didn't effect the taste much.
In the inside! The chocolate in the middle kind of gushed out, like a gusher! But it was yummy!
My sister enjoyed a Mandarin Orange Spring Fruits chocolate. She said it was tasty, but I didn't actually get to try it myself.
(Mandarin Orange Spring Fruit)
I also purchased some Harvest Spice Truffles. THESE ARE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE TRUFFLES GODIVA HAS TO OFFER: AND THAT'S SAYING A LOT! I absolutely love this flavor. It has a milk chocolate ganache mixed with cinnamon, cloves and nutmegg!!! It's a perfect balance between spices thats are still sweet and a harvesty flavor that make Autumn feel more cozy. I think it tastes just like you'd expect it to. The name HARVEST comes from its fresh harvested flavor. legit. It tastes just like Autumn, pumpkins, Thanksgiving Dinner and the piles of leaves all in one truffle. It's DELICIOUS. 10/10!! If you have taste buds similar to mine, you'll want to try this one!

Mint Chocolate Chip- When I was younger I used to go to Friendly's (an ice cream place) that had Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. I LOVED mint chocolate chip. I've kind of "grown out" of those taste buds now, and I usually go for something a little more chocolatey! But this truffle reminded me why I loved it that flavor. This truffle tastes EXACTLY like the ice cream, only if you eat it really fast, it doesn't give you a brain freeze! The inside is very smooth-- a ganache center--which contributes to the ice cream feel. The shell is chocolate and mint, and there are small bursts of chocolate chips inside the truffle. It brought me back to the days where I'd get ice cream after shots. It might not please people who don't have my taste buds, but I liked the themed flavor. Perhaps my love for this flavor originally will bias my review, but I hope not! 10/10
The inside of it! (I cut it in half..) You can see the little chocolate chips! YUM!
There are four in each pint container. They don't really all fit..but they're still deliciouss hehe;) I ate one truffle along with Tea Forte's English Breakfast. It was a simple mix.
I'll rate the Pecan Caramel Truffles as soon as I can!
