Sweeties Fine Chocolate

Today, I went to Sweeties Fine Chocolate in Northampton, MA. I used to go to this place as a kid and has always held dear memories. Although the store isn't extremely large or versatile, it's classic and friendly. It has many selections of hard candy and gummies that you can weigh in a bag and eat, and an assortment of other more common and individually sold candy like Pop Rocks and chocolate gold coins. But, they also have truffles and dipped chips and pretzels and many chocolate goods!

Here's an overview of all the chocolates. I got five, but only four flavors.

I don't remember the name of this one, but it has layers of chocolate (I think it was simply called layers of chocolate or something along those lines) and it has two layers of milk chocolate and one layer of some other chocolate that has a touch of nuts. I can't tell if it's almonds or what but it's good! I also can't tell if it's salted, or if it's the salt from the salted caramel that accidentally got on it.
The one that's sort of already been eaten is a salted caramel chocolate. A little hard since it just came from my fridge, but the salt balanced the caramel really nicely!
That one there is definitely filled with almond something. It's not quite a ganache like in the Godiva truffles, but it's delicious. Probably my favorite truffle of the batch.
Then I got two tiramisu chocolates. The coffee taste is really pronounced but it's good nonetheless. The coffee aftertaste is really strong. I got two because I knew I'd like it, and I do(:

Godiva...FINALLY!

I finally returned to a Godiva store today, for the first time in almost two years! The first mall I visited had a Godiva Store listed under the Godiva Store Locator, but when I arrived at the mall, it had closed. So, I found another store to go to not too far out of the way. It's a shame, though, that they're closing so often. I really wish one would reopen closer to home. Anyways, here's what I got!

My budget wasn't particularly low, but I wanted to get stuff that I hadn't gotten in a while. So, I didn't indulge in too many of the Pint-Sized Ice Cream Parlor containers.

I got four Truffle Bars:

(From top to bottom) Strawberries & Cream in White Chocolate, Mint Chocolate Chip in Dark Chocolate, Cheesecake Filling in Milk Chocolate and Tiramisu Filling in White Chocolate.

And I got four truffles (See picture above):
A Banana Split Truffle, a Tiramisu truffle, a Chocolate Souffle truffle and a Peach Sorbet truffle.

I plan on reviewing each of these individually over time. I don't think I'll review the Tiramisu truffle in detail, because I've already had it before.

And I'm skeptical about the Peach Sorbet truffle because it looks suspiciously similar to a certain "Orange & Creme Truffle" from a few years ago.

But that doesn't mean I don't plan on eating some chocolate tonight! I got some oldies but goodies, too. One of my favorite truffles, the Roasted Almond truffle, which was my free chocolate of the month, along with a pint of mint chocolate chip ice cream--I mean truffles(:

Bakery Dessert Truffles Part One

Molten Lava Cake (Chocolate Lava Cake): Yummy! Already reviewed as chocolate of the month! This one didn't taste as fresh and didn't have as much of an exploding taste as the one I had in the store. But it was still pretty good! It had the same exploding chocolate taste and it's still an 8/10.
Molten Lava Cake/Chocolate Lava Cake truffle! You can really tell it has a cakey substance!

Cheesecake: This one had one half of its interior a cheesecakey flavor, and the other half having a cheesecake crust flavor. It tasted just like the classic cheesecake that everyone knows and loves! Wrapped in a milk chocolate shell and topped with chopped pecans, this truffle was delicious, subtle, and it met almost all of my expectations. I expected a bit more of a cheesecake flavor that was more cheesy. I ate this one along with the carrot cake and they both are topped with nuts, so I got them confused, and I couldn't tell that this one was the cheesecake and the other one was carrot cake untill I reached the crust taste. 8.5/10!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That's right. The white is the cheesecakee and the crustt is the brown part!!

Carrot Cake: I couldn't really distinguish this flavor between the Cheesecake flavor because, as you may have read, I got them confused at first. It's flavor wasn't particularly original. I'm not big on carrot cake, I haven't tasted it as recently as I've had cheesecake, but it tasted very similar to the carrot cake I can remember! 7/10 (Sorry for the lack of a visual display!)

Nutty Truffles!

It's a chocolate night! I'm having three truffles that all look exactly the same! I forget which one's which! They all look so alike!! Haha(: You gotta love Godiva and their nutty truffles!

Oh! NOW I remember! I'm having some Cheesecake and Carrot cake in truffle form from the Bakery Dessert Truffles and Pecan Caramel from the Ice Cream Parlor Collection of Summer 2010! As you can see there is a similar interior between the Cheesecake and the Carrot Cake. However, cheesecake has two flavors in the center, one of cheesecake and the other of the crust! And so does the Pecan Caramel truffle with a melty caramel center! Reviews for part one of the bakery dessert truffles will be uploaded soon!

So as I told you, I'll be trying these out soon! There are six truffles and I'll review them in two parts!

Milk Chocolate Truffle, Pecan Caramel Review and News on the Bakery Dessert Truffles

I purchased 7 truffles today! I purchased all of the Bakery Dessert Truffles, and I received a Milk Chocolate Truffle I guess as my free chocolate of the month. I didn't choose this truffle to be my monthly truffle...I've alreayd tasted this truffle, so it's not that big of a deal. But I still have pictures, and I will briefly rate it! And

I'm SO excited about the Bakery Dessert Truffles! However, I'm probably going to be posting their reviews separately or I'll review them all at the same time, but it will take a little while. This is because I only have a few truffles to last me until October. I want to try to savor these, so it might take a little while. If I at some point got a lot at a time, then I won't need to wait! But, those will be arriving eventually.

I'm not going to review the Pecan Caramel Truffles but I'll tell you that they were very good. I don't see a point in reviewing them because they're not available for purchase any more. But I would rate them an easy 8.5/10! I'll try from now on to make my reviews more prompt so that you'll still have time to try them!

The milk chocolate truffle is not limited edition, so you can purchase it any time, or you can buy a bag of milk chocolate gems. They are very good, and very creamy. They have an original taste, too. There are small chunks of solid chocolate inside the ganache center. It's not very original but it's yummy! I'd rate it an easy 8/10.
